The green was arresting.
You used to come here on your kayak when you first moved to Bend Oregon. Before paddle boards were a thing.
Saying, “I thought of you at Devils Lake today” — it’s kind of like saying, “I woke up in the morning, and I walked down the street, and I thought of you.”
Which happens all the time.
But this moment, at Devils Lake?
It was especially beautiful and wistful.
Torturous, even.
Why?
Because there’s a good chance, we won’t have another chance. Again.
